Sbarra, which includes excerpts from his libretto, is a translation of that appearing in the Italian ed. published at the same time (though the plates retain their Italian legends). The spectacle that Sbarra describes included allegorical pageantry, a horse ballet, and fireworks, and was performed on 24 and 31 Jan. 1667 in the Inner Burghof, Vienna. It was planned and directed by A. Carducci, with C. Pasetti as designer; see Watanabe-O'Kelly. The engraved or etched plates are by J. van Ossenbeeck, F. van den Steen, and G. Bouttats after N. van Hoy. The vocal music (now lost) was by A. Bertali, the instrumental music by J.H. Schmelzer. A quarto ed. with copies of the plates appeared at Frankfurt/Main ca. 1667 under title: Allerhöchst-feyerlicheste Festivitäten (Diarium europaeum, T. 15).
