520 $aPatrice Melnick is originally from Dallas, Texas. She currently divides her time between New Orleans and Grand Coteau, Louisiana, where she lives with her husband, Olan. This is her memoir. Her poems and essays appear in "Grain", "The Xavier Review", and "Prism International". Currently an associate professor of English at Xavier University; she has worked as a cook and deck hand on fishing boats in Southeast Alaska, in the Peace Corps in the Central African Republic; and as a sales rep for Pelican Publishing in Gretna, Louisiana.
