500 $aPrinted, at least in part, at the Elzevir press, Leyden. Some copies were subsequently issued by the Elzevirs under their own name, in 1641. The text agrees with the second Elzevir edition of 1633, except in four passages.
500 $aR. Whittaker had already edited a Greek Testament, printed by J. Bill at London in 1622 and this edition contains the same supplementary matter, although the text of the former was practically a reprint of R. Stephanus' edition of 1550.
500 $aDevice on title page is that of the Elzevir press, with the motto Non solus, but it differs slightly from that found in the first three Elzevir editions. There are two varieties of this edition. In variant A the last line of printer's preface is "spiciat. Vale;" in variant B the last line is "tem opportunitatis articulum repiciat. Vale." This is variant B.
