500 $aThe manuscript notes on fly leaves of LC copy, and some bibliographies, state that Franklin was employed as a compositor on this edition. This (the second) edition was published before the author's death October 29th, 1724, and before Franklin's employment at Palmer's after his arrival in London December 24th, 1724. Franklin's reference in his autobiography ("At Palmer's I was employed in composing for the second edition of Wollaston's Religion of nature") has therefore reference to the edition of 1725, actually the third; the issue privately printed in 1722 was apparently unknown to Franklin or not regarded by him as an edition. cf.
