The document was probably prepared by James Alexander. A reply was published in 1752, with title: "An answer to A bill in the chancery of New-Jersey." The case never came to a decision, being thus settled practically in favor of the defendants of Hatfield's History of Elizabeth, New Jersey., 1868.
