520 8 $aCatalogue de l'exposition "La beauté du corps dans l'Antiquité grecque" présentée à la Fondation Gianadda, Martigny (Suisse), du 28 février au 9 juin 2014.00Le British Museum de Londres fondé en 1753 s'ouvre au public en 1759 et ses collections, constituées de plus de sept millions d'objets, sont parmi les plus importantes au monde et proviennent de tous les continents. Parmi toutes ces richesses, vingt-quatre salles représentent Rome et la Grèce antiques : il s'agit de la section la plus importante du musée qui propose des oeuvres s'étendant du début de la préhistoire à l'ère byzantine. Une des responsables de ce département antique a spontanément proposé à Léonard Gianadda d'organiser une exposition avec quelques unes des pièces maîtresses choisies parmi ces antiquités grecques et romaines.
