520 $aO novo negro na diáspora is an important contribution to United States hstory, the African Diaspora field of study and travel accounts. This work was originally produced as a doctoral thesis, in which Flavio Thales Ribeiro Francisco analyzed copies of the Afro-American newspaper Chicago Defender, demonstrating how Black experiences in Brazil and France were incorporated into the diasporic imagery of Blacks in the United States in the period between wars. Through the journal's trajectory, we followed the institutionalization of the Black movement in American society and the diffusion of the representations of Brazilian and French societies as models of racial fraternities, until they were compromised by the rise of the Brazilian Black Front (1931) and the articulation of Anticolonial movements in Europe.
