Built as the Landesschule Dresden in Klotzsche by Heinrich Tessenow and Oskar Kramer during the 1920s, the complex on the Thümmelsberg was abused as a State National Political Educational Institution from 1934 onwards, and later became a Soviet military base. It is now the location of an academy operated by the German Social Accident Insurance.
