520 8 $aIn the wake of its thirtieth anniversary, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Saint-Etienne Métropole wishes to publish a large-scale retrospective catalog, intended to offer a fresh look at its collection. This substantial work is in line with the two previous catalogs, published on the occasion of the tenth and twentieth anniversaries of MAMC +. Aimed at a large audience, it aims to become the institution's new reference work. It will also be sent to the museum's many partners and collaborators (artists, curators, curators, art critics and historians, journalists, institutional and political leaders). The MAMC + wishes to approach the collection through its strong axes, constituting markers of the museum's identity, such as American art or post-war German art. But it also intends to make visible groups that are less well known: the Symbolist collection, the collection of primitive art by Victor Brauner, the photographic collection of Raul Hausmann or the collection of contemporary drawings, will thus be the subject of substantial developments. The book will also be punctuated by short focuses intended to deepen certain aspects of the collection
520 8 $aDans le sillage de son trentième anniversaire, le Musée d'art moderne et contemporain de Saint-Etienne Métropole souhaite publier un catalogue rétrospectif d'envergure, destiné à offrir un regard renouvelé sur sa collection. Cet ouvrage conséquent s'inscrit dans la lignée des deux précédents catalogues, publiés à l'occasion des dixième et vingtième anniversaires du MAMC+. Tourné vers un large public, il a vocation à devenir le nouvel ouvrage de référence de l'institution. Il sera également adressé aux nombreux partenaires et collaborateurs du musée (artistes, commissaires, conservateurs, critiques et historiens de l'art, journalistes, responsables institutionnels et politiques). Le MAMC+ souhaite aborder la collection à travers ses axes forts, constituants des marqueurs de l'identité du musée, tels que l'art américain ou l'art allemand d'après-guerre. Mais il entend aussi rendre visible des ensembles plus méconnus : le fonds symboliste, la collection d'art primitif de Victor Brauner, le fonds photographique de Raul Hausmann ou la collection de dessins contemporains, feront ainsi l'objet de développements conséquents. L'ouvrage sera aussi ponctué de courts focus destinés à approfondir certains aspects de la collection
