520 $a"Memoir of Brigadier Eleazor Rodney Goba Keswa, the first black Commander of the Transkei Defence Force. In 1981 he was detained by Transkei security police, tortured, tried and eventually acquitted on charges of theft, criminal breach of trust and conspiracy to defraud the government. He retired from the Transkei Defence Force in 1991. He appeared before the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and submitted an affidavit regarding his arrest and torture. After being told he had to amend it by removing allegations against former President of the Transkei, K.D. Matanzima, he asked to be removed from the list of victims that qualified for reparations."--$cProvided by publisher.
