In 2014, we presented Carl Larsson's colorful world, and now the turn has come for Larsson's close friend and artist colleague Anders Zorn. Zorn's repertoire is broader than Larsson's, as he traveled widely as an internationally acclaimed portrait painter and distinguished world man. Nevertheless, on an equal footing with Larsson, Zorn has gained great importance for the perception of Swedish culture through his depictions of life in Dalarna. Based on the close life- nature, the home and the local traditions - he evokes timeless ideal images of the good life. The works also testify to a local community commitment and a belief in the importance of community. Themes that have just now become highly topical again. I 2014 præsenterede vi Carl Larssons farverige verden, og nu er turen kommet til Larssons nære ven og kunstnerkollega Anders Zorn. Zorns repertoire er bredere end Larssons, idet han som internationalt ombejlet portrætmaler og distingveret verdensmand kom vidt omkring. Alligevel har Zorn på lige fod med Larsson fået stor betydning for opfattelsen af svensk kultur gennem sine skildringer af livet i Dalarne. Med udgangspunkt i det nære liv - naturen, hjemmet og de lokale traditioner - fremmaner han tidløse idealbilleder af det gode liv. Værkerne vidner endvidere om et lokalt samfundsengagement og en tro på fælleskabets betydning. Temaer der netop nu er blevet højaktuelle igen.
