520 $aFrom an historical and archaeological environment of the site, heritage research and conservation perspectives, a group of archaeologists, restorers and social actors have worked for several years in the Xochimilco region, highlight the importance of the pre-Hispanic settlements in the area and the processes of restoration and conservation of the carvings on the Cuahilama hill, an archaeological site located southeast of Santa Cruz Acalpixcac in the Cuahilama district. This site was a Mexica ceremonial center decorated with prehispanic images engraved in basaltic rock. "In a collaboration agreement between the Authority of the Natural and Cultural World Heritage Area of Humanity of Xochimilco, Tláhuac and Milpa Alta - dependent on the Government of Mexico City- and INAH, to work together, given the possibility of influencing its master plan by providing information that allows the reorganization of irregular human settlements, determines the use of land and has a guideline to consolidate the technical and legal protection of the Heritage Zone on the Archaeological Monuments Zone of Santa Cruz Acalpixca, in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Law on Monuments and Archaeological, Artistic and Historical Zones, for the greater conservation and dissemination of this cultural heritage, located in the vicinity of the Museo Arqueológico de Xochimilco."
