500 $aA free and abridged translation of "Voyage d'Espagne cvrieux, historique et politique," first issued Paris, Charles de Sercy, 1665. The authroship has been attributed to François van Aersen, heer van Sommelsdijk, 1572-1641, and to his grandson François van Aerssen, 1630-1658. The latter was the traveler , accompanied by Antoine de Brunel, who seems to have been the author (cf. Foulché-Delbosc, Bibl. des voyages en Espagne et en Portugal, p. 63-65) "Jusqu'à preuve du cntraire il semble équitable de regarder Brunel comme seul auteur du récit attribué à tort jusqu'ici à Aerssen."
