500 $aThe first work, "Memorias antiguas ... del Perú" is from a manuscript preserved in the library of the University of Seville, having date 1644 and title: "Ophir de España: memorias historiales politicas del Pirv ..." The part here printed forms the second book of the first part of the manuscript. A French translation of the same text from a different manuscript was published in Paris in 1840, as v. 17 of Henri Ternaux-Compans' "Voyages, relations et mémoires originaux", under title: Mémoires historiques sur l'ancien Pérou."
