Five of the ill. are copies after those by Gravelot for the 1762 Geneva ed. Vignettes on t.p., p. [V] and p. 349, and a port. of Voltaire on p. IX reproducing that in a 1756 ed. with Paris imprint. Binding: polished calf, signed by F[rancis] Bedford with a stamp at upper left corner of front free endpaper verso. Tooled in gilt with triple fillets along margins of boards, double fillets on edges of boards. Spine tooled in gilt, with author/title and imprint on two red labels. Turn-ins gilt tooled. Top edges gilt, others uncut.

On front pastedown are the bookplates of Cortland Bishop and Robert Hoe.
