A group of teachers and academics worked with Harold Rosen to collect taped evidence of how working-class people actually used language. These tapes were transcribed and printed in the "Language and Class Workshop" magazine with analytical comments and an evaluation. Only two issues were published because Harold's wife, Connie, became terminally ill and the group ceased to meet.
