Edition Notes

The plates were engraved by William Vaughan.

The reproduction of Wallis's "Londons armory" 1677 (110 plates) consists of the dedication plate to Alderman Sir John Robinson, knt. and bart., with his coat of arms: the engraved t.-p. with the arms of the lord mayor, sheriffs and aldermen for the year 1677; the dedication to the king; engraved plate of the royal arms; the license to print; dedication to the lord mayor and aldermen; the preface; the arms of the city of London. Then follow 100 plates of the arms of 73 city companies, and 27 other corporate bodies. The last two plates are the dedication to the Duke of York (with his arms) as colonel of the artillery company, and the arms of the company. cf. p. 55-60.

"Bibliographical list of authorities": p.41-55.
