Edition Notes

Imprint varies slightly.
Vols. 1-2, edited by Churchill Babington.
Vol. 8-9 contain continuations including those of Caxton and Johannes Malverne.
There was probably a 1st edition ending at 1327. The later portion down to 1342 is by Higden, the continuations from the date by others. cf. Dict. nat. biog.
The first book comprises a brief description of the two countries of the known world, and a more particular account of Great Britain.
