"THE important and very remarkable general revival of interest in the subject of Mysticism, which has been so widely in evidence in England during the past fifty years, and which shows every sign that it is no mere passing phase or transitory mode of thought, but a vital permanency since it has proved of real practical help and a source of strength and enlightenment to very many, is attributed to a large number of causes, the varieties of which I do not propose to discuss in detail."
