Alessio was considered by some a pseudonym for Girolamo Ruscelli, but there is no evidence for this association. Cf. Ferguson, J. Bib. Chemica, 1906.
Wecker's work on wines is a compilation. It was subsequently translated and incorporated in book 2 of his Ein nutzliches Büchlein von ... Wasseren, Ölen, unnd Weinen, which was issued by the same publishers in 1569.
