The image is a map that depicts part of northern limits of New Spain in 1771, in a trip made by Nicolas de Lafora. You can see provinces of Coahuila and Texas; the reigns of Nuevo León, Nuevo Santander (today's Tamaulipas State and Southeast Texas) and northern Reyno de la Nueva Viscaya (today's Chihuahua State, northern Durango and South Coahuila, including Comarca Lagunera, named so for the Laguna de Parras (Mayrán) and Ciénega de Álamo (Laguna de Viesca). The first was where Río de las Nasas (Nazas River ended and the former where Río de Buenhabal (Aguanaval river) did.
