Edition Notes

According to Charles Edward Banks, in the Gorges Society publications, Portland, Maine, 1884, internal evidence suggests that the pamphlet was inspired, if not actually written by, Edward Godfrey, the petitioner from the provinces of Mayne and Linconia. Pamphlet is a protest against the absorbtion by Massachusetts of Maine and other New England colonies.
