Paolo Castellini sensed that the hour of revenge had finally come. Carla Peruzzi, the woman who had destroyed him, was finally here. And he knew the way to approach her. Via his publisher, Antonio Giuliani, down-and-out playboy, ex-Formula 1 driver. Carla had fallen in love, married him and made him editor of her publishing company’s crime series. Paolo, recovering from a period of gloom by his new-found passion for writing, had just completed a novel. As fate would have it, it wasn’t long before a fragile friendship based on their mutual love for alcohol, was established between the two men. From that point on it was only a matter of time before he came up with the scheme of his life. And this presented itself during the course of writing his second book. He would seek his revenge on Carla once and for all, steal her father’s infamous collection of priceless yellow diamonds, and her husband, Antonio, would unintentionally assist him. As long as he agreed to go along with his own fake kidnapping. Which, after all, was exactly the theme and title of his book: The publisher kidnapped.
