Whereas ill-minded and disaffected persons have lately dispersed in the city of New-York, and divers other places, several scandalous and seditious libels ... I have therefore thought fit ... to issue this proclamation, hereby promising twenty pounds as a reward, to such person or persons who shall discover the author or authors ... Given under my hand and seal at Fort-George in New-York this sixth day of November ... in the year of our Lord, 1734.
