Work Description

The content of the full colored book is not only monograph of arhitect Eko Prawoto. Pangarsa extends Prawoto's design to observe both vernacular and modern architecture. Among others, discuss: What lessons are drawn from figures such as Romo Mangunwijaya, Koolhaas, Frampton, Doshi, and Hertzberger? How social alignments, culture and environment? Houses for post-earthquake 2006 in Hamlet Ngibikan, Bantul, is Eko's best design, just when his role as an architect had been shrinking. How come? Why use binoculars to study the works of visual culture of Eko? Why is knowledge, education and practices of architecture in Indonesia is very individual and capitalistic? What is the charge of visual culture? What to do with damage cityscape? How did it happen? How to understand intuitive method in reality of design process? What is the universality of design and architecture for humanity? What is the future of architecture in this multicultural archipelago?
