An edition of Dægradvöl (æfisaga mín) (1923)

Dægradvöl (æfisaga mín)

Dægradvöl is the autobiography of Benedikt Gröndal Sveinbjarnarsons (1826-1907), an unusually gifted romantic poet, naturalist, and satyrist. Mr. Gröndal was born in Iceland but lived in Copenhagen, Denmark for many years until his late forties. This book, published about 15 years after the authors death marked a new genre in Icelandic litterature, with unusally vivid, funny and candid reflections from a long live.
