Upper Canada College is one of Canada's oldest independent university preparatory schools for boys kindergarten to high school graduation. It was founded in 1829 in the city of York which is now Toronto. It is written by Richard Howard, UCC alumni and long time teacher and principal of UCC's preparatory school. UCC was founded by Sir John Colborne, Lieutenant Governor of Upper Canada in 1829. The history is organized chronologically in chapters dealing with the administrative and social history of the College. The last few chapters deal with specialized themes relating to sports, Norval, cadets, etc. There is a good index and the appendices are thorough.
