Recollections is an anthology of ten short stones by well-known modern authors. The stories are arranged in pairs and explore five themes which reflect critical moments in the lives of the central characters, from youth to old age.

The stories are not abridged or simplified.

Each story is followed by:
-a glossary explaining essential words whose meaning cannot easily be deduced from context.
-Recollections is an anthology of ten short stones by well-known modern authors. The stories are arranged in pairs and explore five themes which reflect critical moments in the lives of the central questions designed to help With comprehension and appreciation; in each case a more demanding head question is followed by easier sub questions. the answers to which combine to answer the head question.

Each pair of stories is followed by
-questions and discussion topics companng different writers' treatments of a theme.

A compamon volume, Further Recollecttons, is also available. It contains stories by Saki, Somerset Maugham, Stan Barstow, Frank O'Connor, Graham Greene, Muriel Spark, Roald Dahl, James Thurber, Susan Hill and Katherine Mansfield on the themes of surprise, temptation, decision, resolution and loneliness.
