"The decorations throughout the text, and the type composition of this book, were designed and executed by T.M. Cleland ... who also executed the presswork on the color sheets."

The plates are printed on Strathmore papers in various weights and finishes. Each sheet is folded to form 2 leaves, one divided into slits with colour specimens, the other (folded) including a diagram and a decorative design in colour.
