After a review of the literature on the topic of gender discrimination and inequalities in the workplace, this work focuses on gender discrimination in large UK legal firm and on the factors that may influence it such as the historical perspective, stereotypes, culture, work segregation and the glass ceiling.
The author examines and analyses the results of the survey received from randomly selected members of UK legal firms regarding the perception of a glass ceiling and or reduced aspiration for women solicitors in legal firms.
