A book on journalist and ex-journalists' stories on how the media works in Goa, India. October 10, 2003 marked the 20th anniversary of the Herald 's English-language edition. On that day, this book's e-version was released at a rather hurriedly-called and informal function at Panjim's unofficial Press club, the Cafe Prakash. Many journalists who contributed to this exercise are no longer, and some never were, associated with the masthead of the Herald. But, the launch of the English-language version of the Herald undeniably is an important landmark in Goa's media history, of our generation. Some 21 essays written by 20 different journalists in this book (Ben Antao, Eugene Correa, Valmiki Faleiro, R K Nair, Frederick Noronha, Melvyn Misquita, Daryl Pereira, Vishvas Paul D Karra, Derek Almeida, Tony Martin, Elston Soares, Miguel Braganza, Shiv Kumar, Rahul Goswami, Cyril D'Cunha, Niraj Naik, Raju Nayak, Peter Raposo sfx, Mayabhushan Nagvenkar.)

First Sentence

"If you believe in miracles, here is a small one. The text you read in your hands came about initially as an e-book, which was written collaboratively by a score of journalists. They have interesting, if not amazing, stories to tell. Their willingness to come together and make their point says something. Technology only makes it easier to break into print. But the urge to ``tell the story" comes from within."
