"Leona stood before the Duke of Ardness, well aware that her whole body was trembling. 'I understand that you rode off my land today,' the Duke began slowly. Although he was speaking in a controlled, almost unemotional voice, Leona could feel the anger vibrating from him. 'You wished to visit Lord Strathcairn? Work Description

After the death of her mother, Leona went to live in Scotland, to the castle of the Duke of Ardness. On her way, she met with an accident and Lord Strathcairn saved her, and inmediatly she is attracted to him.

Leona stood before the Duke of Ardness, well aware that her whole body was trembling.

"I understand that you rode off my land today," the Duke began slowly. Although he was speaking in a controlled, almost unemotional voice, Leona could feel the anger vibrating from him.

"You wished to visit Lord Strathcairn? I suppose you imagine you are in love with him?"

Leona did not answer and after a moment the Duke said:

"I presume he has told you about his wife?"

"His... wife?"

Leona could hardly whisper the words. She was sure she was about to faint....
