"This Historic Resource Evaluation (HRE) is being undertaken at the request of Build, Inc. for the former C. Shilling & Co. Wine Cellars (Schilling Wine Cellars) complex located at 900 Minnesota Street in San Francisco's Central Waterfront district. Designed by the San Francisco firm of Hemenway & Miller and built in 1906 on land belonging to the Santa Fe Land Improvement Company, a portion of the complex is one of the most significant industrial structures in the locally designated Dogpatch Historic District. Once home to the California Wine Association and Fruit Industries, Ltd., the complex served most recently as the headquarters of San Francisco clothing designer and manufacturer Esprit de Corp from 1971 until 2002."--Leaf 1.
