An autobiography of an amazing individual who lived a very hard life in Western Australia from 1894. He had no formal education but a real thirst for information. He taught himself how to read and write. His father died when he was very young and his mother deserted him (and his siblings). He had a wide range of jobs and served in World War I in Gallipoli. He endured many hardships throughout his life yet still considers his life fortunate. He does break his life into two parts: before he met his wife ("a lonely, solitary life") and after he met her. An inspirational writer. His book was published when he was 87. He died less than a year later.
