Edition Notes
English and Spanish on facing pages.
Mimeographed reproductions of typescripts, pictorial borders, and drawings on folded leaves of mostly coarse brown paper; 2 full-page illustrations on white bond; green tissue-paper endpapers. Stapled at left margin and glued to brown paper liners of green tie-dyed linen covers. Covers are illustrated with decorated-paper and wood-veneer cutouts and tied at fore-edge with suede ties. Other preliminaries illustrated with mounted paper cutouts.
Accompanied by a construction of cardboard, crepe, and other decorated papers, as well as lace, tulle, and twigs, that functions as a case for the book and represents the author's house with accompanying tree, moon, and stars. Includes a paper cutout representing a wooden shingle with two holes for hanging, labeled Emily Dickinson.
Part of a collection of handmade chapbooks, most with cords for hanging (literatura de cordel), published by Ediciones Vigía under the auspices of the Cuban Ministry of Culture.
Publication information from colophon.
Translations were made from Thomas H. Johnson's edition of The Complete Poems of Emily Dickinson. Boston: Little, Brown, 1960.
"Consta de doscientos ejemplares numerados ... Los primeros cien ejemplares de este libro van en un estuche que recrea la casa donde viviera la autora y contiene además un árbol, la luna y un cielo con ángeles y estrellas que la resguardan y lo convierten en una muestra de arte instalacionista que deviene homenaje a la gran poetisa norteamericana"--Colophon.
