In the late 1930’s years, Alfred Renard designed the fighter family of the Renard R36, R37, R38 and R40. Of the same class of the Supermarine Spitfire or the Hawker Hurricane these elegant fighters were victims of the lack of interest of the Belgian authorities.
The new book of the Fonds National Alfred Renard (FNAR) covers in detail the history and the development of the aircraft. Many new sources have been used for the redaction of this in depth study. The original drawings of the prototypes permitted the preparation of detailed drawings and never published pictures illustrate the book.
Romain Hugault, the famous comic strip artist is the author of the fine cover.
