Probably the first biography in Urdu of "Sayyid Muḥammad ibn Ṣafdar Husaynī (1838-1897), mostly known as Sayyid Jamāl-al-dīn al-Afghānī, or Sayyid Jamāl-al-dīn Asadābādī, a political activist and Islamic nationalist active in Persia, Afghanistan, the Arab World, and the Ottoman Empire during the 19th century. One of the founders of Islamic modernism, and an advocate of pan-Islamic unity, he was .... interested in organizing a Muslim response to Western pressure.” (Wikipedia) ". // The author, Ziauddin Ahmad Barni (1980-1969), had written this book in 1921 while in Government service at Bombay Secretariat.
