Leaves of plates 1-11 are hand-colored engravings of the apparatus used for the photographic reproductions; plate 12 is a hand-colored engraving of the apparatus used for the photographic reproductions, in this case, printed on a double leaf; plate [13] is an albumen print of a view of the exterior of the photographic studio of the Ordnance Survey Office at Southampton; plate [14] is an albumen print, a photographic map of the city of Edinburgh printed on a double leaf; plates [15-16] are additional examples of albumen prints, both being photographic maps of cities "reduced ... by photography"; plate [17] is an albumen print, a photograph of a hand-engraved topographic map, printed on a double leaf; plates [18-19] are albumen prints, photographic reproductions of hand-made three dimensional topographic models as seen from above, these two albumen prints have been hand-colored.
