An edition of The Sequel (2008)

The Sequel

Sarat, a talented young man from Kolkata, India, aspires to become a writer. But he finds it almost impossible to get a publisher interested in his work.
Michael, a highly successful author from England, migrates to Switzerland after turning into an international celebrity.
These men live separate lives, thousands of miles away from each other. They have nothing in common, and yet an extraordinary incidence puts them on collision course. It seems the central theme of Michael's latest bestseller has been lifted from one of Sarat's unpublished novels. Sarat sues Michael for plagiarism, but it leads to his own destruction.
Ria, a bright young journalist of Indian origin, is abducted in Kosovo. While in captivity, she falls in love with Fen, her captor. Ria suddenly discovers that they have something very common.
A month later, Fen arrives in Switzerland. He, with help of Ria, plans to avenge the gruesome murder of his father.

It is a story about the glamour and gloom of the literary world, and narrates how parallel lives in this world can come together under extraordinary circumstances. A crime thriller of a different sort.
