This spiritual story inspired by the ancient testament, partly written in Italian and
Hebrew and published in Spanish, turned into a contemporary music opera and first
performed in Vancouver in 1997, and later in Turin 1998, deals with the love between
Tamiel, an angel faithful to God and Asbeel, who betrays and is only saved by the angels
Gabriel and Michael, and by Tamiel`s profound love, who interceds with God and saves it.
A lyrical drama in three acts, the story, music written by composer Riccardo Piacentini
and libretto by Gabriella Bianco, interpreted by Tizana Scandaletti (soprano), Luca Dordolo
(tenor) and directed by Giovanni Moretti (regisseur), deals with love beyond sin and beyond human condition, as God`s love forgives and saves.
Fragments:
Aria:
Lamento de Asbeel:
T tu, tremendo, altissimo mi Senor,
?Como llamarte desde mi misera cornisa?
?Como invocarte?
?Que largo, oh Padre, el vertigo,
y que violenta la caida,
y que estrema la lejania,
y tan desmedida, ahora,
mi sed de ti.
......
Aria:
es la union de lo puro con el deseo puro;
