Struma - Corabia vietii si a mortii (Struma Ship: Life & Death) is a collection of the testimony and meditations by Josephine Feinstein regarding the sinking of Struma. Most importantly, her sons, "flowers of her love and fulfillment", Mircea the painter and Harry the poet, were on Struma enroute to Palestine to escape the Nazi occupation/aggression in WW2 Romania when it was sunk. Her testimonies describe the personalities of her sons and their hopes, and describes letters they sent from Istanbul. Comments are included from Rabbi Dr. David Safran about his friend Itzhak Tercatin from Iasi who was a law student and the leader of the Betar Zionist youth movement. He was one of the organizers of the journey and also died/drowned in the sinking disaster of Struma.
-Todd A Plesco (Josephine was a first cousin of my paternal grandfather.)
