The thrust of this book is to celebrate Esie as an archiothropological icon. By what means and methods is this achieved? The people of Esie, at home and in the Diaspora, under the royalty of HRH Alhaji Yakubu Babalola, caused celebratory machinery to swoop and spool, culminating into the enthronement of an Esie Monument Festival Committee in 2005. This committee, chaired by a history icon, Professor Mrs. Bolanle Awe, supported by eminent persons in and outside Esie, has as a term of reference (nay, tall order) to organise a world-wide campaign. The aim of this is to focus attention on this National museum situated in Esie. The objectives to be achieved are: to remind the world of the existence of the museum; appeal to the nation to upgrade the museum such that will attract national and international tourists; and boost the soico-economic development of the host town, state and nation. One of the ways conceived by the committee to achieve these objectives is the organisation of workshops, presentations, speeches and write-ups, most of which form the contents of this book.
