Work Description
I read this book when I was a child and for ever captivated me. I actually read the Spanish version "Kon-Tiki y yo" but this is as good. The book narrates the trip taken by:
Thor Heyerdahl (1914–2002) was the expedition leader.
Bengt Danielsson (1921–1997) In charge of supplies and daily rations. from Sweeden
Knut Haugland (1917–2009) Radio expert
Torstein Raaby (1918–1964) Radio Expert
Erik Hesselberg (1914–1972) Artist, know about sailing.
Herman Watzinger (1910–1986) Engineer
Heyerdahl live in Polynesia for about ten years and come up with the idea that the islands were populated from America and not Asia, as though by most other experts. Unable to publish his work he went to Peru, built a balsa wood raft, and drifted to Polynesia. The book Kon-Tiki and I was written by Erick Hesselberg, and what makes the book amazing, besides Erick's sense of humor and light prose, are his drawings.
