Revelation of Saint John. Interpretation of the Book.

The Apocalypse or Revelation of Saint John the theologian is a book that is divided in seven parts, which will be detailed starting off the revealed information. Before beginning we must know that this revelation was given to Saint John apostle in the last years of his life while he was exiled in the island of Patmos (Rev 1:9) by order of the Roman emperor Domitian (81-96 a.C), and who trying with impunity to silence Christianity—always Rome—sent the old apostle to exile, who was at that time the only survivor among the Yeshúa of Nazareth-Jesus Christ original apostles. From that rocky island this man of God received the revelation of which it would be the history of Christianity from Jesus departure (12: 5), until His return (1: 7-8)… still hoped, and no longer distant.

Revelation or Apocalypse is therefore a book that narrates the prophetic history of 2000 years until the arrival of the Millenarian Kingdom, and centering its main attention in the beginning of the Final Judgment to the Earth‟s nations that will take place in the days preceding the Coming of the Son of God. The seven churches mentioned in the prophetic story: Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea, were the main churches of Asia Minor, then center of the Christian world, and taken care of directly by the apostle Saint John. They represent today‟s global Christian world.
