Roosevelt to confer with Joseph Stalin (1943) and for Harry S. Truman to confer with Sir Winston Churchill (1945), as special adviser to Truman and U.S. secretary of state James F. Byrnes at the Potsdam Conference (1945 ), and as vice chairman of the U.S. President's Advisory Commission on Military Training (1946-1947).
