"Ces manuscrits seront vendus en détail au jour qui sera par lat suite indiqué, à moins que l'on ne fasse avant le premier septembre prochain, à Messieurs le Administrateurs du Collége de Louis le Grand, des offres convenables pour acquérir la totalité''--P. [viii].
"Nota. Les manuscrits de la maison professe ne font point partie de ce que l'on doit vendre, soit en détail, soit en totalité: lesdits manuscrits ne seront vendus que lors de la vente de livres de cette maison"--P. [viii].
Errata on p. 450 [i.e. 350]; "Addenda et emendanda": p. 326-330.
Includes index (p. 331-349).
Date of sale: according to the note on p. [viii] of the catalog, the sale of the manuscripts of the college was originally scheduled to take place on or after Sept. 1, 1764; however, Gerard Meerman offered to buy the manuscripts in totality. The sale to him was eventually completed on April 16, 1765, less 39 volumes which were to remain in France (see Brucker, J. Épisode d'une confiscation de biens congréganistes (1762). (Études, 88 (1901): 497-519), p. 515). According to note on p. [viii], the manuscripts of the Jesuit professed house were to be sold at the time of the sale of its books; the sale catalog of the books (Catalogue des livres de la bibliotheque de la maison professe des ci-devant soi-disans jesuites. Paris : Pissot ; Gogué, 1763) gives the originally scheduled date as Dec. 1763, but Blogie gives dates of that sale as June 25-July 3, 1765.
Library's copy has the catalog of the "domûs professae Parisiensis" bound in first, before the catalog of the college.
Property stamp of the Jesuit House of St. Louis, Jersey.
Binding: pink pastepaper. Title in gilt on black paper spine label.
