The Record Industry Publicity Collection is formed of promotional materials that were mailed from record label publicity departments to the Library of Congress Music Division during 1940s through the 1970s. The Music Division later transferred the materials to the Motion Picture, Broadcasting and Recorded Sound Division, where it was processed as a collection.
