English subject in the present curriculum is one of the subject that is given importance by the curriculum planners, higher authorities, administrators, teachers and pupils.
this descriptive-correlation study revealed that on the whole, the pupils have "adequate" home literacy experiences and when classified across all categories of the variables included. In general, the pupils reading attitude is "positive". Pupils do not differ significantly in their home literacy experiences when classified as to their personal characteristics such as sex, pre-school experiences, fathers' education, mothers' education, and availability of reading materials at home.
