When Jove took over publishing The Shadow in the late 1970s, the company reprinted all the titles that Pyramid had previously published, usually reusing the same artwork for the cover. But this is one of the four titles in the Jove series whose cover differed from its Pyramid counterpart (the other three being "The Living Shadow", "The Romanoff Jewels", and "Shadowed Millions"). Only a limited number of this particular edition were published by Jove and as a result, it is highly sought-after by collectors.
