The Title is " Norms of the Tribunal of the Roman Rota." The Rota is the highest appellate court in the Catholic Church. It can hear some cases in first instance, but ordinarily it hears marriage cases only after a diocesan tribunal has held a trial and a regional appellate tribunal has either ratified the decision of the first instance trial or has held a second trial on the same grounds. If either party is dissatisfied with the outcome of this procedure, it may request the Rota to accept the case in third instance. Appeals from decisions of the Rota can be made to the Apostolic Signatura only on the assertion of procedural error, not on the merits of the case. This books is a Spanish translation of the most recent norms to which the procedures of the Rota must conform.
